- Construction has started on a new $950,000 amenities facility in Joondalup
- Hockey and Netball courts will have direct access to new bathrooms
- Local builder Brausch engaged to build new facilities
The expansion of HBF Arena facilities continues, with construction underway to deliver new bathroom facilities that will service members of the community who regularly use the netball courts and hockey pitch to the north of the site.
The $950,000 investment will be a great addition to the thriving sports community in the northern suburbs and delivers on another McGowan Government election commitment.
Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton said the new amenities would be welcomed by the local community and would be a great asset to the area.
The new block, which will also include two Universally Accessible Toilets and a cleaner store, is expected to be completed in September of this year.
Currently, the nearest facilities available to the users of the hockey and netball areas are inside the venue. This new development will improve safety and reduce the impact on training and tournaments alike.
Comments attributed to Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman:
“The new amenities will be universally accessible so all visitors to HBF Arena will have access.
“HBF Arena now has nearly 1.5 million patrons every year. Having additional facilities located closer to the netball courts and hockey pitches will ensure that the ever-growing community sport users at HBF Arena will be properly serviced”
